Keyword: Padlet Application, Writing, Narrative Text English is a language widely used by many people around the world to interaction with each other. English has a big contribution in accomodating many people to enrich their knowledge and skills in various fields. And one of the skills that important to learn in English is writing. In this era, writing activities are not only done through conventional methods, such as using paper and pens. These days, we can use applications that related to writing, one of application that be used as media in writing is Padlet Application which can make writing more interesting and efficient. This research was carried out to investigate “The Effectiveness of Using Padlet Application Toward Students’ Ability in Writing Narrative Text of the Eighth Grade at MTs Darunnajah Jombang”. The formulation of the research problem is “Do the students’ taught after using Padlet Application have better score than students’ taught before using Padlet Application?”. This research was used quantitative approach with pre-experimental research design with one group pre-test and post-test design. The population of this research was the students of MTs Darunnajah Jombang that consists of 64 students. The sample in this research taken from one class from the eighth grade which consist of 20 students. Meanwhile, the instrument of this research is pre-test and post-test. The data collected through pre-test and post-test were analyze by using Paired Sample t-test in SPSS. The research result showed that there was increasing score on the students’ writing ability. It can be seen from the mean pre-test score 55.50 and the mean of the post-test score 75.70. From the statistical calculation showed the p-value (two tailed) was 0.000. Since 0 is smaller than the ɑ (0.05), so the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and hypothesis ɑ (Ha) was accepted. So, it can be concluded that Padlet Application was effective and it can be used as an alternative media to teach writing. First by using Padlet Application, the students can write better than using conventional way. Second, by using Padlet Application, the students more interested during the learning activity
