Abstract
This study aims to comparatively analyze the books Nubuwwah Ar-Rasul and 40 Hadiths on End Times, including their characteristics, the model of end-time hadith presented in both books, and the paradigm model regarding end-time hadith offered in these books. The research employed a library research or literature review method, gathering various previous and contemporary literature on end-time eschatological hadiths and comparative studies of hadith books. Several approaches were used as analytical tools, including historical, philosophical, hadith studies, and comparative literature approaches. The findings of this study revealed that Nubuwwah Ar-Rasul employs a book commentary writing model, interpretative models of ijmali and muqarrin, theological and philosophical sermon styles, with an academic background for its writing. On the other hand, 40 Hadiths on End Times uses a book commentary translation model, an interpretative model of ijmali, educational and social sermon styles, with a background reflecting the surrounding community's conditions. Furthermore, the analysis discovered the presented model of end-time hadith in Nubuwwah Ar-Rasul, consisting of 28 hadiths, with a majority of them being theological, totaling to 10 hadiths, and major events, totaling to 9 hadiths, with a majority of them in symbolic form. In contrast, 40 Hadiths on End Times presents 40 hadiths, with a majority of 24 hadiths focusing on moral advice and 10 hadiths being theological, with a majority of them in dialogical form. In conclusion, through the comparative analysis, the researcher identified numerous differences between the core ideas of both books and their perspectives on end-time hadiths. Ahmad Fahmi in 40 Hadiths on End Times introduces the concept of Al-Islah, a paradigm where end-time hadiths are seen as a tool to uphold societal morals. Conversely, Waliyullah An-Nadwi in Nubuwwah Ar-Rasul introduces the concept of Al-Ilahiyah, where end-time hadiths are regarded as truths to be believed, even if they appear to contradict logic.
