Psychological Problems Faced by The Tenth Grade Students of The Office Automation and Governance Major at Smk Islam 1 Durenan in Speaking English. Sarjana Thesis. Keywords : Psychological Problems, Speaking English, Office Automation and Governance Major Speaking English is still considered a challenging subject. The same is true for X-OTKP students at SMK Islam 1 Durenan, who tend to be silent when their teacher asks them to speak English. Students tend to find it difficult to speak English due to their lack of self-confidence. The problems experienced by students when speaking English are included in the psychological problems of speaking English. The aims of this study were to: 1) analyze the psychological problems faced by students of class X- OTKP SMK Islam 1 Durenan in English; 2) To find out what strategies will be used by students of class X-OTKP SMK Islam 1 Durenan to overcome problems in speaking English; 3) To find out the implications of these problems on the speaking skills of class X-OTKP students at SMK Islam 1 Durenan. This research uses a qualitative case study. The subjects in this study were all students of class X-OTKP SMK Islam 1 Durenan. At the same time, the data from the study were obtained from interviews with X-OTKP students at SMK Islam 1 Durenan. Based on the results of the interviews, it can be seen that X-OTKP students did experience difficulties in learning to speak English caused by psychological problems, namely: 1) fear of making mistakes; 2) shyness; 3) anxiety; 4) lack of motivation; 5) lack of confidence. The strategy used by students in dealing with these problems is to continue to study harder and pay attention when the teacher explains. In contrast, the implication of this case for students is that they experience difficulties in receiving and understanding the material their teacher has delivered.
