Abstract
Abstract Vilantya Charisma (12203183111) "THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING SPOTIFY TO TEACH LISTENING COMPREHENSION EIGHT GRADE AT SMP MUALLIMIN." Teaching thesis in English. Science faculty and education. State Islamic University of Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. Dr. Hj. Ida Isnawati, M.Pd., as the advisor.. Keywords: Listening comprehension, Spotify. Students may get disinterested in studying if the comprehensive listening learning process is less inventive. This have an impact on the outcomes of learning to listen to understanding that is subpar. Success in the teaching and learning process can be aided by the teacher's position as a facilitator in the learning process. A teacher needs to be capable of making media selections that reflect current events and technology advancements. The author of this study examines the efficacy of using podcasts as a tool for complete listening instruction. A practical and convenient new type of learning medium is the podcast. The goal of this study was to evaluate the potency of utilizing the Spotify app to teach listening comprehension to SMP MUALLIMIN class VIII students. Utilizing a quantitative methodology, this investigation. The study's methodology is quasi-experimental. The nonequivalent posttest-only control group design was the quasi-experimental strategy employed in this investigation. This study's research question was "Is there a significant difference in the comprehensive listening scores of students who were taught using podcast learning media and students who were taught without using the Spotify application media?" While the data analysis for this study was done by contrasting the experimental class's post test results with those of the control group. A control group and an experimental group make up the many groups used in the study design. The group that did not get any therapy using Spotify application media is known as the control group. The experimental group, on the other hand, received care while using the Spotify app. Multiple choice tests were utilized as the method of data collection, and the results of a thorough listening post-test served as the data. Homogeneity tests, normality tests, and hypothesis testing were the data analytic approaches used in this study. The data analysis using the t-test yielded a significance value of 0.003 0.05. The null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected since the value of 0.003 is less than 0.05, and The competing theory (Ha) is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that class VIII students at SMP MUALLIMIN benefit greatly from the usage of podcast medium for complete listening learning.
