Keywords: Improving, Vocabulary Mastery, Instagram Polling Quiz Language is a symbol to communicate and express thoughts and feelings. English is an international language that is accepted worldwide, so anyone needs to learn vocabulary because vocabulary has an important role in English. When carrying out the second internship at UPT SMPN 1 Srengat, the researcher found a problem in grade VIII-B: the students' lack of vocabulary mastery. This lack of vocabulary mastery is due to online learning due to the Covid19 pandemic. Learning vocabulary is not only through books or studying in class. With increasingly advanced technology, students can learn vocabulary through social media. The researcher used the Instagram application with the Polling Quiz feature to improve students' vocabulary mastery. Instagram is a popular application for the community, especially young people, so learning to use Instagram is easy to do. Using Instagram Polling Quiz is also not difficult to use, easy to access, and doesn't consume a lot of internet data, so the researcher chose the Instagram application to improve students’ vocabulary mastery. The purpose of this study was to know how to Improve Students’ Vocabulary Mastery Using Instagram Polling Quiz for VIII Grade of SMPN 1 Srengat. The formulation of the research question was "How to Improve Students’ Vocabulary Mastery Using Instagram Polling Quiz for VIII Grade of SMPN 1 Srengat?" This study used classroom action research. Before implementing classroom action research, the researcher carried out a preliminary test to determine the value of students' vocabulary abilities. The subjects of this study were 31 students of class VIII-B UPT SMPN 1 Srengat. The instruments in the study were field notes for observation and tests regarding vocabulary, which consisted of 35 multiple-choice and 10 short-answer. Appendices from field note data were presented as supporting information, and data from tests regarding vocabulary were analyzed to find out the improvement in student vocabulary after learning using the Instagram Polling Quiz is implemented. The success criterion in this study was that 80% of the VIII-B grade students succeeded in obtaining a minimum KKM (Minimum Completeness Criteria) score of 80. The researcher conducted research that took place in one cycle consisting of two meetings. The first meeting was held in class according to the learning schedule, and the second meeting was held online, which means students have freedom within 24 hours to access quizzes on Instagram. The results of the study show that Instagram Polling Quiz can improve students' vocabulary mastery. The test results regarding vocabulary, that is 81% of students scored above the KKM (Minimum Completeness Criteria), namely 80. In addition, student motivation also increased when learning was carried out using Instagram Polling Quiz because students could immediately get feedback from what answers they chose. Students who are usually lazy to take English lessons become active when doing quizzes on Instagram. Based on the results of this study, the Instagram Polling Quiz can improve the vocabulary mastery of grade VIII UPT SMPN 1 Srengat.
