Abstract

Keywords: mind mapping, vocabulary mastery This research is aimed at learning innovations and the use of appropriate and variated media in the class, whicht is very supportive of efforts to improve the quality of education. Vocabulary mastery affects students' ways of thinking and creativity in the language learning process, so that vocabulary mastery can determine the quality of a student in language. Learning methods can create a learning atmosphere that helps students interact with vocabulary actively. They can understand more vocabulary to enrich vocabulary creative methods. It needed to support good learning and make it easier for students to remember a lot of information. The statements of the problems in this study was “Is there any difference significant score in vocabulary of the students before and after taught using mind mapping?” The results of this study indicate that: (1) Vocabulary mastery before and after using mind mapping on students’ of LKP Endemic Warujayeng. It proven by the results of testing the calculated t count is greater than t table at a significant level of 5% (12.9323 > 2.0281). In addition, the application of the mind mapping has a very large difference, there is an increase in students' vocabulary mastery seen from the average after using the mind mapping with an average difference of 28.34. (2) The application of the mind mapping method can improve the vocabulary mastery of students in Basic 1A class of LKP Endemic Warujayeng. In applying the mind mapping method, it can solve students' problems in vocabulary mastery with an average score of 79.81. The learning process using a mind mapping is as follows: (1) Overview: Thorough review of a topic when the new learning process begins, (2) Preview: Preliminary Overview is a continuation of the Overview so that the general description is given at a more detailed level than the Overview, (3) In-depth Review: In-depth Review which is the essence of a learning process, where a topic will be discussed in detail, detail and depth, (4) Review: Review is carried out before the end of class hours and is in the form of a summary of the material that has been taught and emphasized on important information, concepts or formulas that students must remember or master.
