Abstract
Thesis entitled “Teaching Practices on the Implementation of Online Teaching Learning at SMAN 1 Pakel Tulungagung” is written by Sri Wahyuni, Student Number:12510194001 and supervised by Dr. Susanto, M.Pd and Dr Ida Isnawati, M.Pd. Key words: teaching practices, online learning, synchronous In the era of abundance information, online learning becomes the important aspect in teaching and learning practices. This condition is emphasized when learning must be held with a remote system, which requires teachers and students not to be in one place. Furthermore, this online learning is to be the mandatory when the pandemic Covid-19 hit across the world especially in Indonesia. In this context, all of education program should be done in a distance. Consequently, not all of teachers, students, even the institution are ready to adapt due to there is not enough preparation. This condition invites me to investigate the implementation of online learning during the spreading of covid 19. This study focuses in investigating the teacher perception in their online learning which covers into two research questions. The former is “How do the teachers implement online learning during the spread of covid-19 which online learning to be inevitable choice?” and the latter is “What are the challenges faced by the teacher in implementing online learning?”. The first research question intends to investigate the implementation of online learning while the second research question tries to explore the challenges of the teachers in implementing online learning during the spreading of covid-19. This research used qualitative research design in order to research the focus of this study. State senior high school 1 (SMAN 1) Pakel Tulungagung was selected to be the setting of this study due to this school is categorized favorite school in Tulungagung which a lot of achievement and implementing online learning in their instructional process. In depth interview was used to investigate three teachers as respondents of this study. The result of the interview then analyzed based on the domain of online learning implementation. The results of this study are divided into two sections. The first is the implementation of online learning. This result was categorized based on the theories of online learning implementation, namely access and motivation, online socialization, information exchange, knowledge construction, and development. Those online learning was done synchronously. The second is the challenges when implementing online learning which classified into four sections, namely infrastructure and connectivity, e-learning system support, technology competency and self-regulation challenges.
