Abstract

Keywords: Drama, Drama Script Book, Teaching Speaking Material, English Club Students, Vocational High School 2 Tulungagung Learning English is very important for students. There are four skills they must master. Those four skills are listening, speaking, reading and writing. Of the four skills, speaking ability is the skill most learned by Vocational High School 2 Tulungagung students, especially English club students. There are many ways that teachers can do to improve their students' English speaking skills, one of which is by playing drama. Doing drama is considered very useful for improving students' speaking skill. Besides being able to practice their speaking skills in a relaxed situation, students are also not faced with stressful formal situations in practicing their speaking. So the activity of practicing speaking skill can be fun. Unfortunately there is no suitable speaking material to support it. Based on the statement above, the researcher wants to do some research related (1) Speaking material should be developed for students of English Club in Vocational High School 2 Tulungagung and (2) How to develop the speaking material of the students of the English Club in Vocational High School 2 Tulungagung. The finding of the research is that the students and the teacher of English club need a drama script book to support their performance in playing drama. The English drama script book contains of Indonesian folklores. Those folklores are (1) The story of Roro jonggrang, (2) The story of Jaka Tarub, (3) Nawang Wulan and Jaka Tarub, (4) Princess Mandalika, and (5) The story of Banyuwangi. In development the product, the researcher uses the Research and Development (R&D) method using the Borg and Gall development model. There are ten steps in this model but the researcher only uses six steps. Those six steps are research and information collecting, planning, develop preliminary form of product, operational field testing, final product revision and dissemination and implementation. The data collected were in the form of qualitative data in the form of interviews and quantitative data in the form of the percentage of feasibility test results There were two instruments used in this research namely questionnaire and interview. The researcher did the need analysis to the students by giving questionnaire and the teacher of English club by doing interview. Besides, she also did the interview to two experts to checking the product. did six steps her product. The improvisation is also needed in making the product. Those improvisations are adding several songs in some scene, adding several players and jokes in each story. In addition, the researcher also added several additional stories so that the story would not be monotonous
