Advisors: (1) Dr. Nurul Chojimah, M.Pd, and (2) Dr. Dwi Astuti Wahyu Nurhayati, SS., M.Pd. Keywords: Teacher Talk, Teaching and Learning Interaction, Classroom Interaction. This study focuses on the crucial role of teacher talk in facilitating effective classroom interaction and language learning. It explores the implementation of the scientific approach within the Curriculum 2013 (K13) in an English teaching context. Using discourse analysis based on Systemic Functional Linguistics, the study examines the teacher's conversations that guide students through the stages of the scientific approach. By analyzing the regulatory and instructional registers of teacher talk, the study aims to understand the Interaction involved in leading teaching and learning processes and their influence on students' understanding. The formulations of the research problems in the writing of this thesis are: (1) What are the teacher talk Interaction in leading to the teaching and learning through the stages of scientific approach at Nurul Falah Islamic Junior High School Tulungagung? (2) How can the teacher talk influence students' understanding during interactions in the classroom, through the stages of the scientific approach at Nurul Falah Islamic Junior High School in Tulungagung? The study aims to know about: (1) To find out the teacher talk Interaction leading to the teaching and learning through the stages of scientific approach (2) To find out the teacher talk influence students' understanding during interactions in the classroom, through the stages of the scientific approach. This thesis is useful for the author to add insight into the mindset, attitudes, and experiences as an effort to improve the quality of teaching and learning English, especially on students’ success in speaking ability. The research methods included: (1) the research design in this study was an case study with qualitative approach, (2) the informant in this research were the English teacher and the ninth-grade students of Nurul Iman Islamic Junior High School Tulungagung; (3) The technique of data collection was observation, interview, and documentation; (4) To analyze the data, the researcher conducted some steps include data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal various teacher talk Interaction, categorized into lecturing, asking questions, and giving directions. Lecturing is the most frequently used method, followed by asking questions and giving directions. The study highlights the positive impact of teacher talk Interaction on students' ability to express opinions, engage in effective interaction, and enhance speaking skills. The use of questions fosters interaction and initiates communication between teachers and students. Additionally, providing clear instructions and guidance encourages active participation. Enthusiasm, clear and structured language, active listening, responsive feedback, clarity in explanation, and encouragement contribute to students' understanding and engagement in the classroom. The research emphasizes the importance of teacher talk in creating an inclusive and stimulating learning environment, promoting critical thinking, active participation, and deeper comprehension among students. Effective communication strategies employed by teachers can enhance classroom interactions, supporting students' understanding and participation.
