Registered Number Student. 2813123112. 2016. “The Implentation of Contextual teaching and learning in teaching reading comprehension Of eight grade at MTs.AQssyafi’iyah Gondang Academic Year 2015/2016”. Sarjana Thesis. English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr Erna Iftanti, SS.M.Pd. Keywords: Implementation, Contextual Teaching and Laerning, Reading Skiil Reading is one of language skill that most important between another language skill. By reading students can rich their knowledge as the input of the learning process because reading is a source of knowledge and also the important role in students’ achievement. One of the methods that used in teaching reading for young learner is Contextual teaching and learning is method for reading to children learns to recognize whole words or sentences rather than individual sounds. In Contextual teaching and learning some contributions in teaching learning activities, especially in teaching readingcomprehension. This approach makes the students construct their understanding inreading text and in the final of study students can be increase their comprehensionin what are the text they read. The formulation of the research problems were: 1 ). How the implimentation of contextual teaching and learning in teaching reading comprehension by english teacher ? The purpose of this study were to: 1) To discribe the implimentation of contextual teaching and learning in teaching reading comprehension by english teacher. This study used qualitative approach with descriptive design. The participants of the study comprised 32 students from the eighth (A) grade students of MTs. Assyafi’iyah Gondang. They were purposefully assigned as the sample of the study. The research result (observation, interview or documentation analysis), the researcher say that CTL in the students point of view is very interesting and make them fun, it is not bored because the learning activity and the topic based on the real life situation and it is related to students experience. Therefore, it has positive contribution in learning reading comprehension.
