English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. University State Islamic of Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. Sukarsono, M.Pd. Keywords: Socio-Cultural, Content Analysis, Textbook Textbooks are one of the most important parts of learning english, and one of the important aspect that learners must know in an English Textbook is the socio-cultural aspect. This research is aimed to find the sociocultural content of English textbook “Think Globally Act Locally” for ninth Junior High School published by The Ministry of Culture and Education. The formulation of the research problems were: 1) What types of Indonesian socio-cultural content are found in the English textbook “Think Globally Act Locally” for ninth grade? 2) How are the Indonesian socio-cultural content presented in the English textbook “Think Globally Act Locally” for ninth grade? The purpose of this study were: 1) To find out the types of Indonesian socio-cultural content are found in the English textbook “Think Globally Act Locally” for ninth grade. 2) To analyze the Indonesian socio-cultural content presented in the English textbook “Think Globally Act Locally” for ninth grade Research Method: 1) the research design in this study was a qualitative research with content analysis study, 2) the source of data of this research was the documents from English textbook “Think Globally Act Locally” for ninth grade, 3) the method of data collection technique were documentation, 4) the method of data analysis used was a theory by Miles and Huberman namely: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The result of this study showed that: 1) The types of Indonesian socio-cultural contents are found in the English textbook “Think Globally Act Locally” for ninth grade, categorized into the nomenclature, address terms, cultural info, cultural sites, socio-cultural tradition, and etiquette (Herudjati Purwoko, 2010). 2) The Indonesian socio-cultural content presented in the English textbook “Think Globally Act Locally” for ninth grade fulfiled the socio-cultural aspects, especially for Indonesian socio-cultural aspects. There were 80 contents, nomenclature is predominant in the textbook, followed by the cultural info, etiquette, socio cultural tradition, and address terms. Meanwhile, cultural sites are the least presented in the textbook.
