Abstract

This thesis examines the impact of mobile applications on English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers and their students. In recent years, mobile apps have become increasingly popular in higher education, including language learning. While mobile learning offers many advantages such as autonomy, individualization, and instant feedback, it also requires teachers to adapt their teaching methods. The objective of this review is to assess the extent to which mobile apps affect EFL students' progress, and to identify the benefits and challenges of using mobile technology in language learning. The review finds that mobile apps have a positive impact on EFL students, particularly in terms of engagement, autonomy, collaboration, and feedback. However, the benefits of mobile apps depend on the quality of the apps, the pedagogical approach, and the degree of support from teachers and institutions. The review also identifies several challenges that educators face when implementing mobile technology, including the need for proper training, reliable internet access, and overcoming resistance to change. In conclusion, the review argues that the benefits of integrating mobile technology in the EFL classroom outweigh the challenges, and that educators should continue to explore new ways to leverage technology to improve language learning outcomes. The review suggests that a learner-centered approach, combined with effective pedagogy and appropriate use of technology, can help EFL teachers and students achieve their learning goals.
