Keywords: Slang, Contextual Meaning, Indah Asmigianti’s Contents, Independent English Learning Slang is a crucial thing that must be learned by someone who wants to learn a new language, especially English slang. Because slang has the characteristic of words that are implicit and not absolute. Therefore, it can be said that learning slang is a form of increasing extensive knowledge in learning English. Furthermore, slang words have a lot of meanings, one word can have different meanings in different contexts. So, English language learners need to pay attention and understand the use of each slang words according to the context of the sentence. In this study, the researcher used Indah Asmigianti’s contents as a research object related to usage, type of slang and contextual meaning. The researcher used a qualitative descriptive approach and collected data using the documentary method. The researcher also used data analysis technique in the form of content analysis and triangulation method as a data verification technique. In this study, the researcher has a role as a research instrument. The findings from this study shows that, there are 5 types of slang contained in Indah Asmigianti’s contents. From out of 219 videos that have been analyzed, there are 87 words included in fresh and creative slang, 18 flippant, 10 imitative, 8 acronym and clipping slang. However, the researcher only explained four of the findings from each type of slang in detail. And the result of this research, the most dominant slang used is fresh and creative slang type. For the contextual meaning, this slang is divided into 7 based on the purpose of its use; that is to address, to humiliate, to form intimate situation, to initiate relax conversation, to express impression, to reveal anger and to show intimacy. And out of the 20 slang words, there are 9 words that most often used to show intimacy. Therefore, this study indicates that Indah Asmigianti’s content can provide benefits for someone who wants to learn English slang independently through her YouTube channel, because it contains a lot of slang words that found in her conversation dialogue with native speakers. But, on the other hand, this research is limited to the use of slang words in Indah Asmigianti’s contents and its contextual meaning. So, the researcher hope that the next researchers can develop with different object or use different theories.
