Speaking English is considered the most challenging skill, emphasizing its crucial role for students who focus on developing high speaking abilities. Despite being challenging, speaking is an active skill where students must express ideas through sentences and phrases rather than single words. It shows its importance in evaluating how well someone is learning a language. Because of that, effective teaching media is much needed especially for learners. In the teaching-learning process, the teacher needs media to convey the material easier. Students’ created videos can make learning English more fun for students. This study wanted to find out and prove that using students’ created videos could help students get better at speaking English. This study aimed to know whether there is a significant difference scores in speaking of the 8th-grade students at MTsN 1 Tulungagung taught using students’ created videos and those taught using a conventional strategy. This study used a specific type of research design called quasi-experimental, which belonged to the quantitative approach. It involved comparing two groups of students by using two groups pre-test and post-test. The students came from the eighth grade at MTsN 1 Tulungagung, and 64 students were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Quantitative data were taken from students’ scores in speaking recount text. The research instrument of this study was administering pre- test and post-test from the two classes. To analyze the data, statistical methods were employed, specifically an independent T-test conducted using SPSS 25.0 software for Windows. The results of the Independent T-test indicated that the significance value was 0,000 and it was lower than 0,05. It means, there was a significant difference in scores between the group taught using students’ created videos and the group taught using conventional strategy. Therefore, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. In conclusion, students’ created videos were found effective in enhancing students' speaking skills.
