Sinta Faulina (126203202115). The Influence of Questioning Technique on The Students’ Motivation and Their Procedure Text Comprehension of Grade X at SMA Negeri 1 Tulungagung. Thesis. English Education Department, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, State University (UIN) of Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung 2024. Advisor: Dr. Susanto, SS., M.Pd. Keywords: Questioning Technique, Motivation, Learning Outcomes, Procedure Text. Teaching is a process of facilitating students to achieve the teaching objectives. Hence, the teaching process must be interesting to stimulate students’ learning outcomes by using an appropriate teaching technique. One of the interesting teaching techniques is Questioning Technique. This study was done to prove or verify whether the Questioning Technique was effective technique to improve students’ motivation and their learning outcomes. The formulations of the research questions were: (1) How is the influence of the Questioning Technique on students’ learning motivation of procedure text in grade X at SMA Negeri 1 Tulungagung? (2) How is the influence of the Questioning Technique on students’ learning outcomes of procedure text in grade X at SMA Negeri 1 Tulungagung? (3) How is the influence of the Questioning Technique on students’ motivation and learning outcomes of procedure text in grade X at SMA Negeri 1 Tulungagung?. This study used Quasi-experimental design with quantitative approach by using non-equivalent control group post-test only. The population was the 10th grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Tulungagung. The sample was 74 students chosen through purposive sampling technique. Quantitative data were taken from students’ score resulted from distributing in motivation questionnaire and learning outcomes test. Research instruments of this study were questionnaire of motivation and test from the two classes. Method of data analysis used was computing statistical computation in the form of independent T-test by using SPSS 23.0 for windows. The results of Independent T-test computation of the two groups motivation and learning outcomes showed that: (1) Questioning Technique influence students’ learning motivation; (2) Questioning Technique influence students’ Learning Outcomes; (3) Questioning Technique influence both students’ learning motivation and their learning outcomes. This result can be seen in the sig value was 0,000 and it was lower than 0,05. Hence, there was significances different score of the group taught by using Questioning Technique and the group taught by using conventional technique. That is why null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Thus, Questioning Technique was effective to improve students’ motivation and their learning outcomes in procedure text.
