Abstract
The thesis with the title "Leadership of Kiai in Improving the Quality of Human Resources (Sequential Exploratory Mixed Method Study at the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School Putri Blokagung Banyuwangi)", was written by Walida Husana, NIM 1880501220044. Islamic Education Education Management Master's Program, Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung State University , Supervised by Prof. Dr. H. Acmad Patoni, M.Ag and Prof. Dr. H. Asrop Safi'i, M.Ag Keywords: Kiai Leadership, Contribution, Evaluation, Quality of Human Resources The background of this research is Kiai leadership which can be interpreted as the way or efforts of Kiai to influence, encourage, guide, direct and mobilize administrators, teaching staff, students, parents of students and related parties to work or play a role in achieving the set goals. The kiai's way of getting other people to work to achieve the pesantren's goals is the essence of kiai leadership. The quality of human resources is a factor that influences the level of success of an educational institution. Especially in Islamic boarding schools, namely students and teaching staff. The research questions are: 1) What is the form of kiai leadership at the Darussalam Putri Blokagung Banyuwangi Islamic boarding school? 2) What is the contribution of kiai leadership at the Darussalam Putri Blokagung Banyuwangi Islamic boarding school in improving the quality of students? 3) How is the evaluation of kiai leadership in improving the quality of human resources at the Darussalam Putri Blokagung Banyuwangi Islamic boarding school? 4) Is there an influence of kiai leadership in improving the quality of human resources at the Darussalam Putri Blokagung Tegalsari Banyuwangi Islamic boarding school? This research aims to find out how much Kiai leadership has contributed to improving the quality of human resources at the Darussalam Putri Blokagung Banyuwangi Islamic Boarding School. The quality of human resources can be seen from indicators, namely education, skills, language and technology. This research applies mixed method research with a sequential exploratory approach carried out at the Darussalam Putri Blokagung Islamic Boarding School, Banyuwangi, with a sample size of 300 people. Data was collected using 4 methods, namely observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Qualitative data was obtained through interviews with kiai, caregivers, the head of the Islamic boarding school's quality control department, as well as observations of the activities of students and teaching staff at the Islamic boarding school and analysis of several Islamic boarding school documents. Instrument validation testing and then testing its validity and reliability using the Alpha Cronbach formula. The data analysis technique is using non-parametric statistical analysis. Different tests (Independent Sample T Test). The analysis requirements test consists of testing the validity and reliability of the questionnaire, testing the assumption of normality of the data and testing the hypothesis. The results of this research indicate that there is a positive and significant influence between Kiai leadership in improving the quality of human resources at the Darussalam Putri Blokagung Islamic Boarding School, Banyuwangi with a sig-2 tailed value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is an influence between Kiai leadership. towards teaching staff and students at the Darussalam Putri Blokagung Banyuwangi Islamic boarding school.
