Abstract
Thesis with the title "The Effect of Problem-Based Learning Methods on Critical Thinking and Student Learning Outcomes in Number Pattern Material in Class VIII MTsN 06 Tulungagung". this was written by Fidia Fitriana, NIM. 12204183107, supervisor Dr. Umm Sholihah., S.Pd. M.Sc. Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Critical Thinking, Learning Outcomes The learning process is the essence of education, which in order to achieve educational success, a learning process is needed. Success in student learning is influenced by two factors, namely internal factors and external factors. Internal factors are factors that arise from within the child, such as mentality, health, success and motivation. While external factors are factors that come from outside the child, such as from the family environment, school, friends, community and infrastructure. The formulation of the problems in this study are: 1) Is there an effect of the use of problem-based learning on students' critical thinking skills in number pattern material? 2) Is there an effect of the use of problem-based learning on students' mathematics learning outcomes in number pattern material? This study uses experimental quantitative research methods. The instruments used in this study were questionnaires and test questions. This study has 2 types of samples, namely, VIII A which is the experimental class with a total of 32 and class VIII B as the control class with a total of 30. The results showed that 1) The use of problem-based learning models had an influence on the critical thinking skills of class VIII students of MTsN 6 Tulungagung. This is shown in the results of calculating the hypothesis test T-Test obtained sig.(2-tailed) value is 0.00. Based on the decision making criteria 0.00 <0.05, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. So that there is a significant influence on the problem-based learning model on the critical thinking skills of students in Mathematics class VIII MTsN 6 Tulungagung 2) The use of problem- based learning models has an influence on student learning outcomes in class VIII MTsN 6 Tulungagung.
