Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. Nurul Chojimah, M.Pd. Keywords: Illocutionary, Speech Act, TEDx Talks. Understanding the illocutionary speech acts performed by speakers in a formal event on a large and official YouTube channel can have a significant impact on providing an in-depth explanation of the intentions of the speakers. Karen Faith, an ethnographer and strategist, was invited to one of the leading events accessed through the platform. As someone whose work has guided teams and initiatives at Google, Amazon, and many more, her statements in her speech led researchers to examine how she conveys her thoughts in the public sphere. This research discussed the illocutionary speech acts in her speech “How to Talk to the worst Parts of Yourself”. This research reveals what illocutionary speech acts are performed by the speaker mentioned above and the purpose of each speech act. In this speech, researcher found many types and functions of illocutionary speech acts so that the formulation of this problem is (1) What are the types of illocutionary speech acts contained in Karen Faith's speech entitled "How to Talk to the worst Parts of Yourself?"? (2) What are the functions of illocutionary speech acts contained in Karen Faith's speech entitled "How to Talk to the worst Parts of Yourself?"? This research used qualitative descriptive research. The purpose of this study is to classify illocutionary acts based on Searle's theory and analyze their functions using Leech's theory. Data collection techniques are carried out by listening, reading, and taking notes simultaneously on video sources. Data analysis techniques are carried out by describing data in accordance with the formulation of the problem. The results of this study show 39 utterances consisting of (1) 15 assertive illocutionary speech acts, (2) 10 directive illocutionary speech acts, (3) 3 commissive illocutionary speech acts, (4) 7 expressive illocutionary speech acts, (5) 4 declarative illocutionary speech acts, and (6) 31 illocutionary speech act functions; 8 competitive function utterances in the form of ordering, requesting, demanding, criticizing, refusing, and begging, 11 convivial function utterances in the form of offering, inviting, greeting, saying thank you, congratulating, praising, and seducing, 5 collaborative function utterances in the form of stating, reporting, announcing, and teaching, and 7 conflictive function utterances in the form of threatening, accusing, cursing, and scolding. In conclusion, the most common type of illocutionary speech act is the assertive type and the least common type is the commissive type. The most common function of illocutionary speech act is the convivial function and the least common is the collaborative function
