Keywords: Readability level, English textbook Textbooks are one of the printed materials used for teachers. Textbooks are chosen because of their advantages of being easy for students and teachers to carry to school and students can repeat the material at home. The difficulty level of a textbook should be in accordance with the reading ability of the students. However, in the initial observation using the Flesch formula conducted by researchers at High School 1 Boyolangu, it was found that out of 5 reading texts, there were several texts that were not suitable for grade X students because they had a higher level of difficulty than the reading ability of grade 10 students. Based on these problems, this study aims to measure the level of readability and examine more deeply the English textbook for grade X students at High School 1 Boyolangu. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The English textbook for grade 10 becomes the research instrument then the researcher will read the textbook which becomes the technique in collecting data. The research analysis used three ways, namely Flesh Reading Ease Formula, Flesch-Kincaid Grade Level Formula, and Automatic Readability Checker and Road to Grammar Formula. The results of the research found are the level of readability found in the reading text in English textbooks for Class X Students of SMK Negeri 1 Boyolangu, Tulungagung is classified in the difficult category.
