Abstract
Rohmawati, Siti Maudlukha, 2025. The thesis entitled “Students’ Perceptions Toward Bamboozle in Increasing EnglishVocabulary Mastery at Seventh Grade of Mts Sunan Kalijogo Kalidawir” Was written by Siti Maudlukha Rohmawati, NIM 126203211070, English Education Study Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. Supervised by Dr. Hj. Nanik Sri Rahayu, M.Pd. Key words: Students’ Perceptions, Bamboozle, Vocabulary Mastery. Vocabulary plays a vital role in language learning and teaching, as it is the foundation for mastering key language skills such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing. A lack of vocabulary mastery hinders students' ability to comprehend texts and express ideas effectively. Traditional teaching methods, which often rely on memorization and repetition, tend to decrease student motivation and engagement, resulting in limited contextual understanding and less effective vocabulary learning outcomes. To address this issue, digital platforms like Bamboozle have been introduced to make vocabulary learning more interactive, engaging, and effective for students. This study aims to investigate students’ perceptions of using Bamboozle as a digital learning media to support vocabulary mastery among seventh-grade students at MTs Sunan Kalijaga Kalidawir. The research focuses on identifying the benefits and challenges students experience when using Bamboozle in vocabulary learning. A quantitative method was used, employing a questionnaire with a Likert scale as the primary data collection instrument. A total of 40 students participated in this study. The results showed that students generally responded positively to the use of Bamboozle. The average score on the benefit indicator was 74,8%, indicating that students felt Bamboozle helped them understand and remember new vocabulary more easily. The interactive and visual features were especially appreciated for making the learning process more enjoyable. On the other hand, the average score for the challenge indicator was 59%, suggesting that students faced only minor difficulties. Some challenges included limited time for deep understanding of vocabulary and unequal participation during activities. These findings are consistent with previous studies which showing that Bamboozle's effectiveness in increasing vocabulary mastery, motivation, and engagement in learning. In conclusion, Bamboozle is considered an effective and innovative media for vocabulary learning, especially when supported by proper planning, active teacher guidance, and varied instructional strategies.
