Keywords: Generation Z, Perception, YouTube Podcast, Vocabulary Development Language learning has gone through significant changes over the years, especially due to the introduction of social media and technology in the digital age. Vocabulary development is key to all aspects of language learning and key to achieving proficiency in English, the world’s lingua franca. Vocabulary is a fundamental component of language learning. However, many students still face challenges such as pronunciation, spelling, and retention. Therefore, the need for innovative vocabulary learning media is becoming more important than ever. One of the media that can be used to develop vocabulary is YouTube podcast, which provides access to authentic language, contextual examples, and supports independent learning. The formulation of the problem in this study is what are Generation Z students the perceptions of on autobase Twitter @englishfess_ about the use of English YouTube podcast in developing vocabulary. The objective of this study is to investigate the perceptions of Generation Z students on autobase Twitter @englishfess_ about the use of English YouTube podcast in developing vocabulary. This study used a quantitative approach and survey method. The researcher used the Lemeshow formula to determine the number of samples. After the researcher calculated the formula, the minimum sample size required is 97 respondents. The researcher rounded up to 100 respondents for the sample size of this study. The researcher used purposive sampling to choose 100 Gen Z college students who follow auto base X or Twitter @Englishfess_ and listen to English podcasts on YouTube. In this study, the researcher utilized a structured questionnaire. The structured questionnaire used in this study was a closed-ended type. A Likert scale was used in this study with 26-item questionnaire. The researcher analyzed the data used SPSS 27.0 with descriptive statistic and Margin of Error to calculate the proportion of the population. The results showed that at a significance level of 5% or 0,05, the proportion of the population of gen z students on autobase X or Twitter @Englishfess_ who felt the benefits of using English YouTube podcast in vocabulary as many as the range 94,1% to 95,9%. The results also showed that a significance level of 5% or 0,05, the proportion of the population of gen z students on autobase X or Twitter @Englishfess_ who did not feel the benefits of using English YouTube podcast in vocabulary as many as the range 4,1% to 5,9%. YouTube podcasts play a significant and positive role in supporting gen z college students' vocabulary development through consistent exposure, contextual understanding, active engagement, practical application, the use of supportive features, students benefit from both short term and long-term vocabulary gains.
