Keywords: Morphology, derivational affixes, headline, CNN News Vocabulary is one of the important things in learning English. In other hand, when we learn about vocabulary in English, we also talk about the word. the study about the word structure known as morphology. In morphology, there are affixes. Affixes can be further classified into derivational and inflectional affixes. This study aims to find derivational affixes in eight of headline in CNN International News. The focus of the study are: 1) What are the derivational affixes found in the article of CNN International News? 2) What are the functions of those derivational affixes in the article of CNN International News?. In this research, the researcher used library research with qualitative descriptive approach. In this research, data was collected by reading and underlying data with derivational affixes, finding out the words in the article of CNN International News, describing the derivational affixes of the word in the article of CNN International News, and describing the function of those derivational affixes. The results of this research, the researcher found three types of derivational affixes, namely prefixes, suffixes, and circumfixes. Total of the types derivational affixes found in eight headline of CNN International news were 145 affixes. The most frequent of derivational affixes found in headline of CNN International News is suffix. Besides that the function of derivational affixes classified into four; namely noun affixes, verb affixes, adjective affixes, and adverb affixes. Based on the result of this research, the researcher wants to give the suggestion especially for students, teachers, and also future researcher. For English teacher and students, affixes are important knowledge to learn in English to know the meaning of affixes and the structure of the word. Affixes found in morphology also help English learners to interpret meaning in books, news, article, movies, story, novels, advertisement, etc. In addition, it can help students further enrich their vocabulary. The future researcher, they can take some knowledge and information about derivational affixes from this research to get better result.
