Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. Universitas Islam Negeri Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. Elva Yohana, S. Hum., M. Pd. Keywords: Cake application, Speaking ability This study explores the effectiveness of the Cake application in-speaking skills of seventh-grade students at MTsN 9 Blitar. This research focus in speaking English, particularly in fluency, accuracy and comprehension. As digital technology becomes increasingly integrated into education, mobile-based applications such as Cake offer interactive and engaging alternatives for language learning. This study was conducted to determine the significant effect on the students' speaking ability before and after using the cake application. The objective of this study is to evaluate whether the use of the Cake application has a significant effect on students' speaking abilities. A quantitative approach was applied using a pre-experimental method with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The participants consisted of 32 students from class VII-F. Speaking performance was measured through tests conducted before and after six learning sessions using the Cake application. The assessment covered six indicators, namely vocabulary, grammar, fluency, pronunciation, comprehension, and expression. The data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests with the help of SPSS software. The results indicated there are significant effect in the students' speaking skills. The average score increased from 78.18 in the pre-test to 85.35 in the posttest. The significance value obtained from the paired sample t-test was 0.000, which is lower than 0.05, indicating a statistically significant difference between the pre test and post test. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the Cake application has significant effect in students’ speaking skills. It is recommended that English teachers consider incorporating mobile-based learning tools like Cake to create more interactive and effective language learning environments.
