This study aims to examine the wage payment practices of sugarcane farm laborers in Ringinrejo Village, Wates District, Blitar Regency, and to analyze wage disparities between male and female laborers from the perspectives of Islamic law and Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower. This research is an empirical study employing a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving sugarcane farm laborers and landowners. The results indicate that wage practices for sugarcane farm laborers in Ringinrejo Village show disparities between male and female workers, even though the type of work performed is relatively similar. These wage differences are based on considerations of physical strength, responsibility, and long-standing customary practices within the community. From the perspective of Islamic law, such practices do not fully reflect the principles of justice, equality, and fair wages (ujrah) as regulated in the ijarah contract. Meanwhile, according to Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Manpower, the wage practices have not fully complied with the principles of non-discrimination and equality of rights between male and female workers. Therefore, this study concludes that wage disparities among sugarcane farm laborers in Ringinrejo Village require improvement to align with the principles of justice in Islamic law and the applicable labor regulations.
