Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic University of Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. Dwi Astuti Wahyu Nurhayati, S.S. M.Pd. Keyword: Jigsaw technique,reading skill. Research was conducted to determine the use of Jigsaw Technique in Teaching Reading Skill of &th Grade Students at MTsN 2 Kota Blitar. The objective of the research can be formulated as follows, 1. To describe the steps in applying the Jigsaw technique in teaching reading skills 2. To explain the implications that arise in the application of the Jigsaw technique in teaching reading skills. The research design used is descriptive qualitative, the instruments used are observation guides, questionnaires and interviews. Jigsaw teaching technique makes students interactive and communicative during teaching reading skills. The jigsaw technique forms study groups consisting of small groups with around five to six students in each group. The purpose of learning using a jigsaw is to make it easier for teachers to carry out learning and make learning easier because students have to actively participate in learning. Using the jigsaw teaching technique has the advantage of encouraging students to understand the material in depth. Inhibiting factors in implementing the jigsaw technique found by researchers skill imbalance, neglected learning objectives, requiring more time, disproportionate student contributions, and inappropriate material selection. The use of the Jigsaw Technique in teaching reading skills of the 7th grade students at MTsN 2 Kota Blitar is quite able to help students in learning activities. By implementing appropriate steps, it can be very helpful and have a positive impact on student learning activities, especially in the area of reading skills.
