Abstract

The Thesis Entitled "Development Of A Digital E-Book With Video Features For English Learning To Support Eighth Grade Students At Smpn 1 Karangrejo " Was Written By Siti Fatimatus Zahro, Nim 1880510240004, Master’s Degree Program Of English Education State Islamic University Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung Supervised By Prof. Dr. Erna Iftanti, S.S., M.Pd and Dr. Susanto, M.Pd. Keywords: Digital e-book, ADDIE model, English learning, Fearures videos. The rapid development of technology has encouraged the integration of digital media into the teaching and learning process. However, the use of interactive digital learning media in English classrooms at SMPN 1 Karangrejo remains limited, as teachers primarily rely on printed textbooks. Consequently, students have limited access to interactive and multimedia-supported learning resources. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a digital e-book entitled Speak Up Book, integrated with instructional videos and interactive educational games, to support English learning for eighth-grade students. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The participants were 33 eighth-grade students and one English teacher at SMPN 1 Karangrejo. Data were collected through needs analysis questionnaires, interviews, material and media expert validation questionnaires, teacher and student response questionnaires, as well as pre-test and post-test instruments. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Normalized Gain (N-Gain) test to determine the effectiveness of the developed product. The results showed that the developed digital e-book is valid, practical, and effective in supporting English learning. The material expert validation obtained a score of 89%, while the media expert validation achieved 93%, both categorized as Very High. The teacher response questionnaire obtained a percentage of 88.24%, indicating that the e-book is highly practical for classroom instruction. Meanwhile, the student response questionnaire reached 96%, reflecting a very positive response toward the developed product. Furthermore, the mean score increased from 51.4 in the pre-test to 82.5 in the post-test. The N-Gain score of 0.65 falls into the Moderate category, indicating that the implementation of Speak Up Book moderately improved students' English learning achievement. In conclusion, the digital e-book Speak Up Book, integrated with instructional videos and interactive educational games, is valid, practical, and effective in supporting English learning for eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Karangrejo. The integration of multimedia features provides students with more interactive, accessible, and engaging learning experiences while supporting independent learning and improving English learning achievement.
