English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Tulungagung. Advisor : Dr. Nurul Chojimah, M. Pd. Keywords : Vocabulary, Learning Media, Digital Comic Mastery of vocabulary is the most basic thing that must be mastered by student in learning English which is a foreign language for all students and the people of Indonesia. Vocabulary is needed to improve the four language skills, namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The less of vocabulary mastery of students is a problem for some teachers, because the key to learning English is mastering vocabulary. Therefore, a media is needed to attract students’ interest in mastering vocabulary. By developing multimedia digital comic researcher assumed to help teaching-learning process run interesting and effectively. One of learning media that can be used to make the learning process of teaching vocabulary run interesting and effectively is digital comics. In addition, based on observation result in VIII grade of SMPN 2 Ngunut Tulungagung at 16th of March 2020, both teacher and students in that school need some innovation of teaching media. This development research aims to develop digital comics as learning media for teaching vocabulary for eighth grade of SMPN 2 Ngunut. This development using CBI models by Priyanto: 1) the research design in this study was R&D, 2) the procedure was plan, design, and evaluation, 3) the evaluation in this study was expert validation and try-out of the product, 4) the research subject was English teacher of SMPN 2 Ngunut and Dr. Nurul Chojimah, M. Pd, -who is my advisor- as expert, VIII grade Student of SMPN 2 Ngunut as small group try-out, 5) the research instrument was observation and questionnaire, 6) the data analysis was using percentage. This research was producing Digital Comic as Learning Media for Teaching Vocabulary for Eighth Grade of SMPN 2 Ngunut uploaded on the webtoon and softfile. The result was 80% for teaching media validation, and 81.090 % for teaching material validation. They were in very good criteria. It can be concluded that the media was valid. Meanwhile the result of small group try-out was 83.60%. So, the Researcher can conclude that Digital Comic is proper for English teaching media.
