Independent Learning. The phenomena of Korean culture spreading rapidly over the world is driving this research. Korean pop, often known as K-pop, is one of the most established Korean cultures in the world. K-pop has created a new culture, particularly among Indonesian millennials. K-pop can be accessible by anyone, everywhere, and at any time, due to better internet connectivity quality. On the other side, since K-pop is in Korean, international fans have difficulty understanding K-pop videos. As a result, the agency in charge of the artists and idol groups choose English as the international language for announcements and video content. The formulation of the research problem of this research are (1) how are K-pop videos used for independent English learning? and (2) what are the advantages of learning English through K-pop videos?. The aims of this study are (1) to analyze K-pop videos as independent English learning, and (2) to know the advantages of learning English through K-pop videos. The descriptive qualitative research method was used in this research. The researcher concentrated on gathering data from college students aged 18 to 23 who love K-pop and frequently watch K-pop videos using English subtitles. Data was gathered through interviews. The researcher conducted an interview through WhatsApp and Twitter. In analyzing research data, researcher go through three stages of data analysis such as data reduction, data display, and conclusions. The results of this study indicate that K-pop videos can be used to learn English independently by using English subtitles. Supported by three advantages gained from learning English through K-pop videos such as: (1) More enjoyable and fun, (2) Giving flexibility, and (3) Getting a lot of vocabularies.
