Abstract

ABSTRACT Thesis entitled "The Relationships between Parent and Child Perspective of Tafsir Al-Misbah by Muhammad Quraish Shihab". Written by Endang Sulami NIM: 128503203003, Research Program: Science of the Qur'an and Tafsir. UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung Postgraduate Research, which is supervised by Dr. Ahmad Zainal Abidin, M.A. And Dr. Salamah Noorhidversei, M.Ag. Keywords: Relationships, Parents, Children, Tafsir Al-Mishbah This research is motivated by the reality in society regarding many parents who still do not understand their obligations and rights in the family. In fact, there are many parents who still do not understand their obligations and rights in the family. This understanding and responsibility must be known by each parent in order to ensure good growth and development of children and to build good relationships in the family. The lack of understanding is shown by the fact that there are still many parents who do not pay attention toward child’s needs and rights, for example related with children’s life rights. This is reflected in the prevalence of abortions and parents actions that endanger their childern’s life. This research was conducted to answer two problem formulations, namely: 1) What are the obligations of parents towards children's rights from the perspective of Tafsir Al-Mishbah? 2) What are the rights of parents towards children from the perspective of Tafsir Al-Mishbah? The objectives of this study are: 1) To explain the obligations of parents towards children's rights from the perspective of Tafsir Al-Mishbah. 2) To explain the rights of parents towards children from the perspective of Tafsir Al-Mishbah. This research included as qualitative research that uses library research techniques, the main source of this research is Tafsir Al-Mishbah. The author uses the book of Tafsir Al-Mishbah because of its fame as subject of research in various scientific works and because of its methods and styles of interpretation that used straightforward language making it easier to understand and correlate with everyday life. The results of this research indicate that: First, parents’ obligations toward their children including providing education for children, providing chidrens’ needs and good nutrition for children, giving inheritance to children, maintaining children's life, breastfeeding children (radha'ah), and caring for children. hadhanah). Second, the rights of parents toward their children including the rights in receive good treatment from the child, the rights to get gratitude from their children, the rights to be obeyed of their good commandments by the child's, the rights to get pray from the child, and the rights to earn a living from the child.
