Advisor: Dr. Dwi Astuti Wahyu Nurhayati, S.S., M.Pd Keywords: Students’ Perception, Mind Mapping, vocabulary The use of media in the learning process is very important. Because not infrequently students feel bored when learning without the media, especially in learning vocabulary. One of them is a student of MTsN 2 Tulungagung who said that sometimes they have difficulty memorizing and remembering the vocabulary they have just learned. Therefore the teacher uses the media in the learning process in the classroom. One of them is the use of Mind Mapping media. Mind Mapping is a technique that combines the right and left hemispheres of the brain to accept new ideas. Teachers can make Mind Maps by adding pictures, colors and columns which can later be filled with vocabulary and its meaning so that students will be more interested in learning vocabulary. In this study, researchers used mixed methods. Researchers used a questionnaire as a quantitative data collection instrument by distributing it to 64 respondents who had been determined. Then for qualitative data, researchers used observations and interviews with students. Interviews were conducted by taking 6 informants to support quantitative data. The researcher used Sequential Explanatory Design. The results of the questionnaire show that students have a positive perception of the use of mind mapping media in vocabulary learning. Among them are as follows: In the aspect of meaning, it shows an average of 3.29 where students strongly agree on the use of mind mapping media in vocabulary learning so that students are able to understand the meaning of the vocabulary they master. In the aspect of use, it shows an average of 3,026 where students strongly agree on the use of mind mapping as a medium for learning vocabulary so that students are able to know the use and placement of vocabulary in a sentence correctly. In the Form aspect, it shows an average of 3,113, which students strongly agree with the use of mind mapping media as an English learning medium so that students are able to classify the types of words and word forms correctly. The results of the interviews showed that students had positive perceptions of the use of mind mapping media in vocabulary learning. Among them are as follows: 1). Students become motivated to learn, especially vocabulary 2). Students are not easily bored during the learning process 3). Students are able to understand the meaning of the vocabulary 4). Students are able to memorize vocabulary and meaning easily and not easily forget. From this, the researcher concludes that the use of mind mapping media is good enough to be used in the student's vocabulary learning process.
