Keywords: Speech Style, Commentary, Football Match Humans carry out their life activities in the world by mingling with other humans. As social beings, humans communicate in various ways, be it by studying at school, working, playing, or doing other activities. Departing from this, communication becomes an important component of everyday life. Humans can communicate verbally and nonverbally. Verbal communication is human communication using the speaker's senses, the purpose of communication is expressed directly to the other person. Next is nonverbal communication, namely communication that is done indirectly, either through facial expressions, gestures, touch, appearance and so on. Discussing verbal communication, the most frequent form of communication by humans, cannot be separated from the existence of language as its supporting element. Language is the main component of verbal communication. There are various kinds of languages spread throughout the world, every country and tribe has a language of various types. The researcher formulates the problem in this study: What are the types of speech styles found in the football commentary match between Indonesia vs Malaysia? The aims of this study are: To find the types of speech styles found in the football commentary match between Indonesia vs Malaysia. In this study, researcher used a qualitative approach. This means that the researcher describes the data he obtained from the source and processes it usingwords. The method used by the researcher is descriptive, which means that it does not use numbers and is factually based on the findings of the phenomenon under study. The descriptive method is detailed by explaining it in the form of sentences. This research is a literature study. Researchers conduct research based on literary works in the form of videos or video transcripts. Based on the researcher findings on the football commentary match between Indonesia vs Malaysia, the researcher found five types of speech styles as stated by Elaine Chaika in her theory of speech style, namely formal style, informal style, serious style, irony style, and humor style.
