Keywords: Speaking Skill, Descriptive Text, Just a Minute (JAM) Game Speaking skill is one of the important English language skills to be mastered in communicating with others. Learning English speaking skill is not an easy thing, students need to put a lot of effort in learning and practicing English speaking skill. Therefore, effective learning is needed by students. In the teaching and learning process, teachers need media to convey material easily. One of the media that can make students interested in learning English is using games. One of the games to learn speaking skills is Just a Minute (JAM) Game. Therefore, this study was conducted to prove or verify whether Just a Minute (JAM) Game is effectively used to improve students' speaking skill of descriptive text. The formulation of this research problem is: " Is there any significant difference score in speaking skill of descriptive text of the 7th grade student’s SMPN 2 Kademangan Blitar taught with Just a Minute (JAM) game and those taught without using Just a Minute (JAM) Game?” The objectives of this study are: to find out the significant differences score in the speaking skill of descriptive text of grade 7th students at SMPN 2 Kademangan Blitar who were taught using Just a Minute (JAM) Game and who were taught without using Just a Minute (JAM) Game. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a quantitative approach. The population was 7th grade students of SMPN 2 Kademangan Blitar. The samples used were two classes. The two classes were VII A as the experimental class and VII C as the control class, each class consisting of 32 students. So, the total sample in this study was 64 students who were selected through purposive sampling technique. Quantitative data were taken from descriptive texts delivered by the students through their speaking ability in English. The instruments of this study were pre-test and post-test of the two classes. The data analysis method uses computational statistics in the form of independent T-tests using spss 24.0 for windows. The results of the Independent T-test showed that the significant value was 0.009 and this was lower than 0.05. Therefore, there is a significant difference between the group that used Just a Minute (JAM) Game and the group that did not use Just a Minute (JAM) Game. That is why (Ho) is rejected and (Ha) is accepted. So, Just a Minute (JAM) Game is effective to towards students' ability in speaking descriptive text.
