Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Tulungagung. Advisor: Hj. Ida Isnawati, M.Pd. Key words: Content Analysis, Textbook. Textbook is as one of the important factor in implementing 2013 Curriculum as the recent curriculum that has launched by Ministry of Education and Culture. The availability of the textbook as teaching material and learning source that can integrate the standard of establishing the curriculum. Textbook is the teaching materials that the most frequently used in the teaching learning process. In field, many textbooks are produced and distributed to schools by relatively affordable price, even freely provided by the government. Nevertheless the textbook has been provided by the government, it is needed to analyze the content suitability of “Bahasa Inggris Kelas X” semester 1textbook published by Pusat Kurikulum dan Perbukuan. The formulation of research problem is: “What kind of evaluation criteria by Cunningsworth are fulfilled by “Bahasa Inggris Kelas X” textbook published by Pusat Kurikulum dan Perbukuan?” This research is an effort to analyze what criteria fulfilled by English textbook “Bahasa Inggris X”. This research involves qualitative content analysis. The source of the data is the English textbook “Bahasa Inggris X” published by Pusat Kurikulum dan Perbukuan. In collecting the data, the researcher used documentation method. The instrument used in this study is the checklist criteria from Cunningsworth (1995). The results of the research show that all the criteria proposed could be completed by the textbook. It can be seen from the number of relevancy. The first criteria in term of aims and approaches is mostly fulfilled the all sub criteria with the number of relevancy 80%. The next criteria about design and organization shows that the textbook closely relevant with the criteria and the relevancy 83.3 %. The textbook also mostly related with the criteria language content by the relevancy 80 %. The fourth criteria, language skill is partly fulfilled the sub criteria by the number of relevancy is 75 %. Then in criteria topic, the textbook almost completely fulfilled the sub criteria in 92.8 %. Moreover, the textbook partly fulfills the criteria in term of methodology in 78.5%, teacher’s book with 70 %, and practical consideration by 62.5% number of relevance. Based on the findings, suggestions can be offered to the English teachers especially the English teachers of tenth grader of senior high school who use English textbook “Bahasa Inggris X” in their class to use the textbook more creatively. They can take advantage of the strength of the textbook and adapt the materials to counterbalance the weaknesses of the textbook. Then, for the book writer, it is suggested that they can adopt the strength of the textbook and complete the weaknesses. Moreover, suggestions are also directed to future researchers are to follow up the study or do further studies on other textbook.
