Writing is considered as the most difficult skill for language learners to master, especially for EFL learners. The fact that there were still a lot of students’ who found it difficult to write paragraph especially descriptive text with variance difficulties , the majority of those difficulties are about vocabulary mastery, organizing ideas into a paragraph descriptive and arranged sentences. It means English teachers have to look for some technique or strategies to solve those problem. There are many strategies or technique that can be used in learning. A appropriate learning strategy to solve the problem is cooperative learning. The name of that strategies is Write Around Strategy. This strategy not only improved students’ skill in writing but also improved how to work in team. The formulation of research problem is there any significant different score on paragraph writing of the students’ taught by using Write Around Strategy of the grader’s students at MTs. N 10 Blitar? From that research problem, the purpose of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of Write Around Strategy on the students’ skill in writing paragraph descriptive. In this research, the researcher used quantitative approach with pre- experimental design. The population of the research is all the students’ of the seven grade at MTs. N 10 Blitar consist 96 students’. The sample of this research is class VII-C consist 32 students there are selected by means non probability sampling. Meanwhile, the instrument used in this research is pre-test and post-test. The data collected through pre-test and post-test were analyzed by using Paired Sample T-test with SPSS windows 24.0. The result of this research showed that significant difference between the result of the pre-test and post-test. The mean of post-test score (79.69) was higher than the mean of pre-test score (73.75). The convention to reject the null hypothesis (Ho) is when the p-value of the obtained statistic is less than 0.05. the finding showed that p-value was less than 0.05 (0.00<0.05). Thus, there was enough evidence indicating that the null hypothesis (Ho) could be rejected, and it could be concluded that Write Around Strategy was effective and it can be used as alternative strategy to teaching students’ in writing paragraph descriptive.
