ABSTRACT Palupi, Rany Raissa. Student number 128510203016. 2023. The Effectiveness of Podcast Media Towards The Students’ Ability of Generating Ideas To Write Narrative Text In An Inclusive Class. Thesis. English Education Department. Magister Program. Islamic State University of Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. The 1st advisor is Dr. Erna Iftanti, S.S., M.Pd. The 2nd advisor is Dr. Arina Shofiya, M.Pd. Keywords: Teaching narrative text using podcast, generating ideas in writing narrative text. In this thesis, the researcher explained the effectiveness of podcast to teach students writing skills in generating ideas for writing narrative text for inclusive students in SMPN 2 Sumbergempol. The researcher conducted this research to find out the answer to the research question, that is: ‘Is a podcast effective to teach student writing skills in SMPN 2 Sumbergempol?’. The hypothesis of this research is H0: Podcasts are not effective to help students generate an idea in writing skills. H1: Podcasts are effective to help students generate an idea in writing skills. The researcher used a quasi-experimental research design. And for the hypothesis testing, the researcher used the T-test. During this research, the researcher gave the pre-test and the post-test for the experimental and control groups. The result of the pre-test and the post-test is that the experimental group has a better score than the control group. And for the result of the T-test, the 2-tailed score is 0,022. It means that the H0 is rejected. The conclusion from this research is that podcasts are effective to help students generate an idea in writing skills. It is in line with the previous study by(Dennis et al., 2015) said that podcasts can be applied to teach students in inclusive classes. ABSTRAK Palupi, Rany Raissa. Pembimbing kedua adalah Dr. Arina Shofiya, M.Pd. Kata Kunci: Pengajaran Teks Naratif Menggunakan Podcast, Mengembangkan Ide Menulis Teks Naratif. Dalam tesis ini, peneliti menjelaskan tentang efektivitas penggunaan podcast sebagai media pembelajaran dalam menyusun ide untuk menuliskan teks naratif pada siswa-siswa kelas inklusi di SMPN 2 Sumbergempol. Peneliti melakukan penelitian ini untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian pada tesis ini, yaitu ‘Apakah podcast efektif digunakan untuk mengajar kemampuan menulis dalam Bahasa Inggris untuk siswa di SMPN 2 Sumbergempol?’. Dan peneliti juga mencari jawaban atas dua hipotesis yang tertulis dalam tesis ini, yaitu: H0: podcast tidak efektif digunakan untuk membantu siswa belajar menulis dalam Bahasa Inggris. Dan H1 adalah podcast efektif digunakan untuk membantu siswa belajar menulis dalam Bahasa Inggris. Peneliti menggunakan eksperimen quasi sebagai desain riset ini. Peneliti melakukan pra tes dan pasca tes pada dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol. Hasil tes dari pra dan pasca tes menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen memiliki nilai yang lebih baik daripada kelompok kontrol. Selain itu, untuk menguji hipotesis, peneliti menggunakan T-test sebaga alat uji. Hasil dari uji T-test tersebut menunjukkan hasil 0,022. Ini berarti, H0 ditolak. Kesimpulannya, podcast dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk membantu siswa belajar menulis dalam Bahasa Inggris. Podcast juga bisa digunakan dalam kelas inklusi. Ini sesuai dengan teori dari (Dennis et al., 2015).
