Keywords: Effectiveness, Vocabulary, Antonym Matching Game Vocabulary mastery is an important provision for mastering all English skills. A lack of vocabulary can hinder students from learning English. That way, certain learning media are needed to increase students’ vocabulary. Appropriate learning media can increase students’ motivation and also improve their vocabulary. One of the learning media to help students learn vocabulary is antonym matching game. The purpose of this research is to determine significant differences in students’ vocabulary scores before and after being taught using antonym matching game at MA Ma’arif Udanawu and to measure the effectiveness of antonym matching game in increasing vocabulary mastery. To achieve this goal, the researcher conducted an experimental research. The formulation of the problem in this study is “Is there any significant difference score of the second graders’ vocabulary mastery before and after being taught by using antonym matching game at MA Ma’arif Udanawu?” This research was conducted using a quantitative approach with pre-experimental research method. The population in this research was students in XI class at MA Ma’arif Udanawu, the sample in this study was XI MIPA 4 class at MA Ma’arif Udanawu, with the total number was 41 students. The instrument used in this study was a test in the form of pre-test and post-test of vocabulary, the data analysis used was a paired sample t-test. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the use of antonym matching game was effective for the second grade students’ vocabulary mastery score at MA Ma’arif Udanawu. This effectiveness is shown by the increase in the average score of students in the pre-test and post-test. From 46.95 it increases to 76.83. Then the results of the paired sample t-test show a significance value of 0.000 and less than 0.050 (0.000 < 0.050). It means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Hence, there was significant different score in vocabulary of the students before and after being taught using antonym matching game. So it can be concluded that antonym matching game was effective used for vocabulary mastery
