Reading is one of the language skills that students can gain a lot of information and knowledge. Reading comprehension is the process of constructing meaning by coordinating several complex processes that include word reading, word and word knowledge, and fluency. So reading comprehension is the ability to understand the meaning to integrate with what the reader already knows. Translation is another ability that is important to be learned and developed by the students, Translation and reading are connected. Gaber (2005) claims that a translator cannot translate a text without understanding the meaning(s) of that text. As a result, reading comprehension is an essential and significant component of translation practice. The purpose of this study is to find out whether there is significant correlation between students’ reading comprehension and translation ability. This was quantitative research with correlation design. The population of this study was the tenth grade students of MA Darul Hikmah Tawangsari. The researcher used sample that consists of 75 students. The instruments of this research were reading comprehension and translation ability test. The data collected were analyzed byusin/g Pearson Product Moment Correlation in SPSS 22.0. The research result showed the students’ reading comprehension the average of 79 and average translation ability is 81. The coefficient correlation (rxy) between two variables coefficient correlation of students’ reading comprehension and their translation ability is 0.512 at the significant level of 0.05. so it is higher than rtable 0.512 > 0.361. Based on the calculation, Alternative hypothesis H1 was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is significant correlation between reading comprehension and translation ability
