Abstract

Haryakusuma Pamungkas, Bagas. NIM. 12203173222. 2024. “Students’ Perception Toward The Implementation of Blended Learning At The Eleventh Grade of SMK 1 PGRI Tulungagung”. Thesis. English Education Department. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. Universitas Islam Negeri Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung. Advisor: Ida Isnawati, M.Pd. Keywords: Students’ Perception, Blended Learning, English Learning Blended Learning is mixed learning by applying online and face-to-face (offline) learning. This learning method was conducted because the eleventh grade of SMK 1 PGRI Tulungagung carried out an internship programme for 6 months and during the internship process the students' learning was carried out by blended learning. The objective of this study was to find out the students' perceptions of the application of Blended Learning Method in Teaching English to SMK 1 PGRI Tulungagung students who were doing an internship programme for 6 months and the problems they faced when implementing Blended Learning. This research used descriptive method by using questionnaires and interview. The data was taken from a class of Office Administration majors with a total of 20 students. The collected data was analysed using thematic analysis. Students' perceptions were examined in three categories namely the benefits of implementing online learning, the benefits of implementing face-to-face (offline) learning and learning assessment in Blended Learning. The results of this study showed that most students viewed positively the online and face-to-face modes used in their English learning. Blended learning provides several benefits such as being accessible anytime, flexible, providing comprehensive and necessary learning materials, encouraging students to be independent learners, improving student communication and learning interaction, and saving energy. The students reported that schedule constraints that clashed with internship time, online technical constraints, and ineffective online learning mode were their main problems in implementing blended learning. Furthermore, this study revealed that the perception of face-to-face activities is higher than online activities, which indicates that students prefer face-to-face learning mode in their English learning.
