Abstract

The study of the ma’ruf theme is one of the interesting themes in al-Qur`an. In line with the spirit of amar ma’ruf as a common jargon for almost all Islamic organizations, discussing this theme finds its significance. Using semantical analysis, this paper wants to describe how the Qur’anic injunction in the ma’ruf spectrum is understood. By giving attention to almost all the frames in their contexts this word arises, and this word shows a very deep meaning a reader can catch. Although the word ma’ruf means etymologically to be known, to be recognized and to be discerned, it tends to denote an intrinsic and qualitative meaning. The way to achieve this goal should be referred to human habit and tradition. Even, Semantic analysis of this word will be a driving power, if the understanding of Amar ma’ruf is put on the right way to lead Muslims as a man of solution, not a problem.
