The Effectiveness Of Using Animation Pictures on Students’ Achievement in Writing Recount Text of Tenth Graders at SMKN 1 Bandung. Sarjana Thesis. English Education Department. Keywords: Effectiveness, Animation Pictures, Writing Recount Text Writing is a productive skill. It is very useful for student because it can convey their message through their minds in the writing form. One of media in mastering writing skill is animation pictures. It is one of media to teach writing. In this research, animation pictures are the easy and simple way. It consists of many pictures in there. This media will help the student to organize their ideas before they develop in paragraph of recount text. The formulation of the research problems were (1) How is students’ achievement in writing recount text before being taught by using Animation Pictures? (2) How is students’ achievement in writing recount text after being taught by using Animation Pictures? (3) Is there any significance different between the students’ achievement in writing recount text before and after being taught by using Animation Pictures? The purposes of this research were to (1) find out students’ achievement in writing recount text before being taught by using Animation Pictures, (2) find out students’ achievement in writing recount text after being taught by using Animation Pictures, (3) find out significance different between the students’ achievement in writing recount text before and after being taught by using Animation Pictures. Research Method (1) the research design in this research was experimental design with quantitative approach, (2) the population of this research was all students of tenth grade at SMKN 1 Bandung, (3) the sample was X – AK 1 class consisting of 36 students, (4) the research instrument was written test, (5) the data analysis was using T-Test on SPSS 16.0 for windows. The result showed that the student’s score in writing recount text before they are taught using animation pictures was 67.50. While the students’ score after they taught using animation pictures was76.28. The Tcount was 11.659, whereas Ttable with significant level 0.05% was 2.030. So, Tcount was greater than Ttable. It means that H0 is rejected, so Ha is accepted with states that there is significant effect in using animation pictures as media to teach writing recount text to the X- AK 1 graders at SMKN 1 Bandung. In other words, animation pictures can be used as an alternative media to teach writing recount text to the students as SMK level. The researcher recommends using animation pictures as media in writing recount text to help the students organize their ideas.
