Abstract
This Book is designed to help students of Senior High School to develop their academic English skills required for success in taking the Academic Competence Test (Tes Kompetensi Akademik / TKA), specifically in English. The materials focus on reading literacy, academic vocabulary, grammar in context, writing skills, and higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). Each unit provides explanations, examples, guided practice, and TKA-style exercises to support intensive and independent learning. This book consists of nine units sequentially from unit 1 until unit 8, discussing Orientation and Diagnostic Reading, Understanding Main Ideas and Supporting Details, Academic Vocabulary Development, Academic Grammar in Context, Academic Writing and Speaking for Daily Conversation, High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in TKA, intensive TKA Practice, TKA Simulation, and Evaluation and Reflection. In addition, unit 9 focuses on Text-based Exercises. All units are organized in a similar way that it starts with stating learning objective, explaining the conceptual ideas of each topic of the units and being ended with giving some related exercises.
