Abstract

The thesis entitled “The Effect of Educaplay on Students’ Grammar Mastery at MTsN 1 Tulungagung” was written by Dyani Zakia Wisnu Wardani, NIM 1860203222151, English Education Study Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, State Islamic University of Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, advisor by Dr. H. Nursamsu, S.Pd., M.Pd. Keywords: Degree of Comparison, Educaplay, Grammar Mastery. Grammar mastery is an important aspect of English learning because it helps students construct meaningful and accurate sentences in communication. However, many students still face difficulties in understanding grammatical concepts, particularly the degree of comparison, due to the use of less interactive teaching methods. To address this issue, the use of digital learning media such as Educaplay is considered a promising strategy for grammar learning. Therefore, this study aimed to determine whether the use of Educaplay has a significant effect on students’ grammar mastery at MTsN 1 Tulungagung. This research employed a quasi-experimental design involving 66 eighth-grade students, consisting of 33 students in the experimental group and 33 students in the control group. The experimental group was taught using Educaplay, while the control group was taught using conventional teaching methods. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test instruments and analyzed using an independent sample t-test with IBM SPSS Statistics. The results revealed that the experimental group demonstrated better grammar mastery than the control group. The hypothesis testing showed a significant result (p < 0.001), indicating that Educaplay had a significant effect on students’ grammar mastery. Therefore, Educaplay can be considered an effective digital learning medium in English language teaching.
