Abstract

Thesis entitled “The Effect od The reference Interest Rate (BI Rate), Exchange Rate (Kurs), and Inflation on The Market Capitalization of the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) for the 2022-2025 Period” written by Naelly Safrilia Suganda, NIM. 1860406222095, Sharia Financial Management Study Program, Department of Business and Management, Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah State Islamic University of Tulungagung with the supervisor Fatma Adhma Khoiri, M.Sc. Keywords: BI Rate, Exchange Rate, Inflation, Market Capitalization Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) The research is motivated by the significant development of the Indonesia Islamic Stock Index (ISSI). However, the movement of the Indonesia Islamic Stock Indes (ISSI) market capitalization is suspected to be influenced by various macroeconomic factors that require further study. This study aims to analyze the influence of the benchmark interest rate (BI Rate), the exchange rate (Kurs), an inflation on the market capitalization of the Indonesian Islamic Stock Index (ISSI) both partially and simultaneously. This study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data ini the form of monthly time series data from early 2022 to late 2024, obtained from Bank Indonesia, Financial Services Authority (OJK), and the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The analytical method used is multiple linear regression with first differencing data transformation to overcome autocorrelation problems in time series data. The results show that partially, the benchmark interst rate (BI Rate) has a negative but insignificant effect on the market capitalization of Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI). The exchange rate (Kurs) does not have a significant effect on the market capitalization of the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI), an inflation does not have a significant effect on the market capitalization of the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI). Simultaneously, the benchmark interest rate (BI Rate), the exchange rate (Rate), and inflation together do not have a significant effect on the exchange rate (Rate), and inflation together do not have a significant effect on R² value of 10,4%, indicates that 89,6% of the variation in the market capitalization of the Islamic Stock Index is explained by other factors outside this research model. The conclusion of this study indicates that macroeconomic variables, including the benchmark interest rate (BI Rate), exchange rate (Kurs), an inflation are not the dominant factors influencing the market capitalizing of the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI). This indicates that the Indonesian Sharia capital market is resilient to fluctuations in macroeconomic variables and is more influenced by factors outside this research model.
