Keywords: Correlation, Students Habit in Listening English Song, Vocabulary Mastery. Listening is one of the language skills having an important role in teaching and learning process. Listening is the skill that students acquire first, especially in getting information and knowledge. Students must understand what someone is talking about, so that they get clear and detailed information and knowledge. Today, almost all people especially students, prefer to listen to songs as they can be good entertainment in boring activity. Russel and Russel in Hasyuni (2006:8) say that listening skill is listening with comprehension, attention, and appreciation. Then listening activity needs integrating skill of language, such as pronunciation, vocabulary mastery, speaking, reading, and writing. One of the ways to listening with comprehension can be through listening to English songs every day. The song itself consists of lyrics or words which express the writer’s ideas, feelings, and experiences. Relating to the words or lyrics contain in English songs, we can assume that it can be used as a medium to teach vocabulary to the students. Learning vocabulary is the most important thing in language learning especially English. We cannot speak, write, and understand what we read and listen without vocabulary. This research is attended to know Is there any correlation between students’ habit of listening to English songs and their vocabulary mastery. Thus, the purpose of this study is to find out there is a significant correlation between students’ habit of listening to English songs and their vocabulary mastery. The research method implemented in this study is analysis prerequirement test consisted of normality test and linearity test through a quantitative approach. Meanwhile, the population is all 10th grade of MA Sunan Ampel Pare Kediri; the sample is class X MIPA that contains 30 students. Then, the research instruments using questionnare and test; while the data analysis using the T-test. The result of the computation showed that the correlation coefficient (r) students’ habit in listening English song (X) and their vocabulary mastery (Y) is 0.644. At the level of significant α= 0.05 and the number of respondents are 30, the sig. (2-tailed) is 0.00. It is smaller than 0.05 so the correlation is significant. From the result that there is a significance correlation and it means that Ho is iv rejected and Ha accepted. It can be concluded that habit in listening to English songs is positive significant with vocabulary mastery and strong correlation.
