Abstract

ABSTRACT Umaiyah, Dewi. Student Registed Number 12205173025. 2021. The Effect of Intensity of Social Media Use as a Learning Resource on Student Learning Outcomes in Thematic Learning in MIN 14 Blitar. Thesis. Teacher Education of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Tulungagung. Advisor: Dra. Siti Zumrotul Maulida, M.Pd.I. Keyword: Intensity, Use of Social Media, Learning Resources, Learning Outcomes, Thematic Learning. The intensity of social media use is the level or size, duration, and frequency of a person using his or her social media with the different types of services available. The result of learning is an overview of students' ability to understand the subject matter delivered by the teacher. The use of social media by students is used as a media as well as a learning resource in finding information related to the necessary subject matter. This research was motivated by the increasing use of social media of students in MIN 14 Blitar. This is due to the process of implementing learning carried out online. This study aims to find out the influence of the intensity of social media use as a learning resource on students' learning outcomes in Thematic Learning at MIN 14 Blitar. The method used by researchers is quantitative research method. The data sources used are primary and secondary data from the dissemination of questionnaires and documentation of recaps of student learning outcomes. Sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The population in this study was students in MIN 14 Blitar with a sample of 90 respondents. The analytical techniques used are descriptive statistics and simple linear regression analysis to test the hypothesis. In MIN 14 Blitar, the intensity of social media use was mostly in the high category with high learning outcomes. Based on the results of the data analysis, using questionnaires showed that the intensity of social media use in the low class in the category "medium" while in the high class in the category "high". The result of the data analysis obtained the value of regression coefficient and determinant coefficient value. The coefficient of regression is 0.632 and the coefficient of determination is 0.371. The regression coefficient indicates that there is a positive influence between the X variable and Y variable. Correlation coefficient value is 0.609 with a significance value of 0.000 and a probability value of 0.05. The significance value is less than the probability value, so the results of the data analysis show that there is an influence of intensity of social media use on student learning outcomes. The coefficient of determination showed that the effect of intensity of social media use on student learning outcomes was 37.1%.
