Abstract
ABSTRACT Ainul Yaqin, Moh. 2013, The Correlation between Students’ Visual Learning Style Preferences and Reading Comprehension at the tenth grade of MAN Kunir Wonodadi Blitar in The Academic Years 2014-2015. English Education Department. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Tulungagung. Advisor: H. Nursamsu, S.Pd M.Pd Key words: Visual Learning Style Preference, Reading Comprehension. English teacher and all other educators, realize that every student consistently have different ways to get information. The education cannot generalize their learning styles, because of this differences preference of each other. Reading is the process of loking a series of written symbols and getting meaning from them. When the students read, the students used their eyes to receive written symbols. The researcher indicates that every students who prefer a visual learning style may have different level of reading comprehension The formulation of the research problems were: Is there any correlation between Students visual learning style and reading comprehension? The aim of this study is: To know the correlation between Students visual learning style and reading comprehension. The sample in this study is 40 respondents from 60 students’ of X grade of MAN Kunir Wonodadi Blitar in the Academic year 2014-2015 by using Random sampling technique, and there are 21 who prefer in visual. The approach that is used in this study is quantitative approach by using correlation method. The finding show that there is significant correlation between visual learning style and students reading comprehension, it can be seen from the result of calculation r = 0.260 lower than table r = 0.433, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that high or low visual learning style preference, relates to high or low students comprehends in reading, Based on the finding, It can be delivered some suggestion to the next researcher in conducting research of the similar topic is create be more detail and extend to other variables to reveal any aspect that support and develop the quality of the researches of reading comprehension. So his or her can be more perfect than previous research.
