The Effectiveness of Watching Fiki Naki Videos With English Subtitle on Students’ Vocabulary Mastery of The Eleventh Grade Students’ at SMAN 1 Karangan, A Thesis of English Education Department, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, State Islamic Institute (IAIN) of Tulungagung 2021. Keywords: Effectiveness, Youtube, Vocabulary Mastery, Fiki Naki Video, Media Vocabulary is one of the language components that have an important effect on the development of four English skills, such as speaking, listening, reading, and writing. With inadequate vocabulary mastery, it was difficult for students to express their ideas both orally and in written formats. Another way of interpreting the written and spoken concepts in terms of reading and listening was also challenging for the students. Because of the importance of vocabulary, it requires a teaching and learning process with appropriate media that invites students to participate. One of the media that is appropriate to teach vocabulary is YouTube. Youtube is one of the video applications that is commonly called the king of video in social media because it is popular and almost everyone in the whole world uses it in daily life. Fiki Naki is a youtube content creator from Indonesia, he is one of the Indonesian YouTubers who is viral because of the positive thing, which is to speak English very well. This study was done to prove that YouTube can be used to teach students vocabulary mastery. The wording of the research problem was, “Is there any significant difference in the mastery of vocabulary taught by students using Fiki Naki Video and those taught by using a conventional method?”. Research method: 1) the research design of this study was used Quasi-experimental with quantitative research; 2) the population of this study was second-grade students of SMAN 1 Karangan Trenggalek; 3) the samples of the class XI IPA 2 consisted of 36 students, and the class XI IPA 1 consisted of 36 students selected through objective sampling; 4) the research instrument was tested; 5) the data. The finding showed that Fiki Naki Video was effective in increasing the mastery of the vocabulary of experimental students. The efficacy of the Fiki Naki Video can be shown in the following descriptions: 1) the mean pre-test score for experimental groups was 50.56 and the mean post-test score was 77.36 after teaching using Fiki Naki Video. The difference in the mean score was 26.8. (2). Meanwhile, the mean control group score in the pre-test was 43.75, and the mean post-test score after conventional teaching was 59.17. The difference in the mean score was 15.42. The difference in the mean score between the pre-test and post-test of the two groups revealed that the experimental group had a better improvement in the mean score. 3) The calculation of the mean post-test score of the two groups using the independence t-test at the significance level of 0.05 showed that the significance values (sig-2 tailed) were 0.00 lower than 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05). The result indicated that there was a difference in meaning between the mean vocabulary score of the experimental group taught using Fiki Naki Video and those taught using the conventional method. As a result, the Null Hypothesis indicates that there is a significant difference in the average vocabulary score of students taught using Fiki Naki Video and those taught using conventional vocabulary method in the first grade of SMAN 1 Karangan was rejected and the Alternative hypothesis stated that there was no significant difference in the average vocabulary score of students taught using Fiki Naki Video and those taught using the conventional method in the first grade of SMAN 1 Karangan was accepted. Thus, YouTube Fiki Naki Video was an effective medium for teaching student’s vocabulary.
