Keywords: Correlation, Animation Movie, Listening Skill Listening is important thing in learning English because before students are able to speak, they need to hear first. As EFL students, they have to listen to native speakers talk a lot. However, they are not always able to listen or interact directly with a native speaker who speaks directly. They need outside sources to optimize their abilities. Nowadays, the appropriate way that can use is video, especially animation movie. Animation movie containing dialogues from native speakers. The learners will easy to understand because there is the subtitle on the movie. Animation movie could be effective way to develop students’ listening skill. This research purpose is to determine the correlation between students’ watching English animation movie and their listening skill of the eighth grade students at MTs Sunan Kalijogo Rejosari. The research design was correlational study. The population was all of eighth grade students at MTs Sunan Kalijogo Rejosari. The sample consist of 43 students from 8A and 8B classes. The questionnaire and the listening test were used as instrument to collect data in this research. The technique used to analyze the data was Pearson Product Moment Correlation through SPSS Program. Based on the result of data analysis, it concluded that there was a positive correlation between students’ watching English animation movie and their listening skill. The result of correlational testing showed that the correlation coefficient value was 0.322 from a total of 43 respondent. It indicates that the correlation between two variables is low correlation. The SPSS calculation obtained the ρ-value was 0.035, where the α = 0.05. since ρ-value is lower than level of significance, the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. As the result, there is a significant correlation between students’ watching English animation movie and their listening skill of eighth grade students at MTs Sunan Kalijogo Rejosari.
