ABSTRACT Kholidah, Maya. Student ID Number. 12203183145. 2023. Implementation of Scientific Approach in Teaching English at SMKN 1 Bandung, English Education Departement. Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training.State Islamic University (UIN) Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah of Tulungagung. Advisor: Dr. Arina Shofiya, M.Pd. Supervisor: Dr. Erna Iftanti. S.S., M.Pd. Keywords: Implementation, Scientific Approach, English Subject In the 2013 Curriculum, it introduces a scientific approach as a mandatory approach that must be carried out by teachers in the learning process in class for all subjects. This raises questions about the possibility of applying a scientific approach to language teaching, especially English, but at SMKN 1 Bandung it has succeeded in implementing scientific-based learning in the 2013 curriculum which makes students excited and enthusiastic in participating in learning series. This resulted in an increase in student learning outcomes at SMKN 1 Bandung. The formulation in this study is: How is the process of learning English with the Scientific Approach? What are the obstacles faced by English teachers in implementing Scientific Approach? And What are the supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation of English language learning? The research uses a qualitative approach, where the research subjects are English teachers at SMKN 1 Bandung. The data collection techniques using interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is reduction, grouping, and conclusion The results of the study Indicated that the English learning process consisted of several steps, namely 1) Observation, 2) Questioning, 3) Experimenting, 4) Associating, and 5) Forming a Network/Communication. There are obstacles faced by English teachers in implementing Scientific Approach, namely lack of confidence, passiveness in class, low mastery of vocabulary and grammar. The supporting factors are the existence of complete facilities, high student motivation, a supportive and controlled classroom atmosphere, and the existence of good learning media while the inhibiting factors are students who are less active and lazy, internet connection and lack of supporting books
