Abstract

ABSTRACT MASEETOH KHUNDAMRI (NIM: 17203153186). Teaching Speaking in Elementary Classes at Peace English Academy in Kampung Inggris Pare). Thesis Department of English Language Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Tulungagung State Amaga Islamic Institute, 2020. Keywords: Expository Research, Teaching Speaking The purpose of this study was to find an overview of the series of speaking processes in the Basic Class program at Peace English Academy located in Pare Kampung Inggris. Participants of this study were all class students who spoke in the Fundamental program that was supported by Ms. Husna in the academic period September 2019. There are three classes with a total of three students in each class with an outline and the total number of participants is 60 students. This research is a qualitative type using an expository research design that aims to expose research subjects. The main instrument used in this study is the human instrument that is intended is a researcher who connects himself with the main instrument so that is able to collect and analyze data. In addition to using human instruments, this study also uses observation forms and interview forms to investigate how teachers conduct the learning and teaching process in the speaking class. The data that has been collected is then analyzed through several steps such as organizing and familiarizing, coding and reducing, interpreting and representing. To determine the level of validity of the data, this study conducted several validity tests such as data triangulation and data source triangulation to obtain credibility, transferability, dependency, and confirmation from this study. Based on the analysis of the data, it can be concluded that the process of preparing speaking in the Primary Class was agreed by Ms. Husna in the September 2019 academic period was in line with the objectives of the speaking curriculum which was to help students achieve their learning goals in order to speak English. The results of this series of processes are proven by the fact that all Primary Class students use English in their daily lives as a daily communication tool. The successful use of English in students' daily lives also supports other factors. That factor is the institutional system that requires all Elementary Class students to use English 100% in their community or with other program students.
